The purpose of the Va'ad HaHorim, or Parents Association is to enrich the academic and cultural environment of Kadimah. We organize quality cultural events, sponsor class activities, purchase additional school teaching aids, and establish funds such as the Library and Playground/Athletic Funds. These activities are supported by earnings from fundraisers during the school year and dues. Every family is automatically a member of this organization. In addition, regularly scheduled meetings provide a forum for discussions on educational matters and concerns, and for the distribution of information about Kadimah and its activities.

Fundraising

The Kadimah PTA asks all families to participate in worthwhile fundraisers to support Kadimah School. The funds raised by the PTA support and underwrite the school trips and community activities. This year we are sponsoring or participating in the following activities and events :

Entertainment Books

The Entertainment Book is a dining, recreation, and services discount program that contains hundreds of premium offers from over 325 area merchants. Most merchants offer "buy one, get one free" discounts, providing significant money saving discounts at many of the area's most popular restaurants and establishments, as well as movies, cultural events, and entertainment. The price is only $15 (which is $13 less than the other popular discount book). Order forms will be sent to each family.

Purchase gift wraps, gourmet treats, Fanny Farmer chocolates, and other gift items. Catalogs will be sent to each Kadimah family in September. Out-of-towners can order directly at Innisbrook.com (School - 101269).

Big G Box Tops for Education

This is a program sponsored by General Mills. Kadimah receives $.10 for every boxtop we send in. The more boxtops we get, the more funds we receive. Over the past 4 years we have earned close to $4,000 to fund equipment purchases for our school. Students, parents, teachers, friends (and even strangers) are encouraged to bring in or send in your boxtops.

Kadimah T-Shirts and Sweatshirts

These can be purchased at the school offices.

Spring Plant Sale

In the spring we will have our annual plant sale -- beautiful flowers and plants, reasonably priced. Hanging baskets and flowers will be available for Mother's Day.

Volunteers Needed

We need volunteers to chair and/or participate in the upcoming school events and activities.

Ideas Needed

If you have some ideas for fundraisers, we would like to hear them. We are always interested in organizing lectures on important topics for parents. If you have ideas for topics or speakers, let us know.
